OUR DREAM TEAM
Chelle Dunston
Public Health Intern
I am Chelle Dunston (pronounced “Shelly”), and I have a Master of Science (M.S.) in Public Health Education and Promotion.
My studies focused on the effects of forest bathing on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) in a specific population. I've observed how pleasant I feel when spending time outdoors. I wanted to explore the impact being outdoors can have on the mood of others.
I’ve used my BS in Agriculture, Plant & Soil Science to journey through the private industry, the federal government, non-profit organizations, and the public sector. I attribute being a lifelong learner to my diverse professional background. After years of promoting industrialized foodstuffs, my campaign today is to return to nature. My studies in American Sign Language (ASL) and recreational therapy have exposed me to larger audiences to share this message.
With the knowledge I’ve gained and all I have yet to learn, I want to pursue a career in the natural sector while advocating Lifestyle Medicine. I appreciate what the green movement stands for and its ease of accessibility.
Aside from my studies, I relish nurturing relationships, getting outdoors, solving logic puzzles, and enjoying music. These things bring me solace and remind me of what’s important.
