Public Health Intern
Hello! I’m Parth Somaiya, a healthcare professional passionate about improving public health outcomes. With over five years of experience as a doctor in India, I have built a strong reputation for resolving medical challenges, improving patient satisfaction, and driving operational efficiencies. My practice, rooted in a comprehensive understanding of family medicine, pediatrics, and non-emergency care, allowed me to make a significant impact on both patient care and organizational performance.
In my role, I managed medical billing effectively while increasing patient benefits, resulting in better healthcare access and cost savings. Additionally, I cultivated a patient-centered approach that strengthened relationships with medical providers, patients, families, and the wider community. My expertise spans healthcare policies, pharmaceutical knowledge, and medical principles, enabling me to provide holistic care to individuals and families.
Today, I am pursuing my Master of Public Health (MPH) at Eastern Washington University, where I aim to further develop my public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, and research skills. My interest in public health was sparked during my time as a general practitioner in rural India, where I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of public health challenges—particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Along with my academic pursuits, I am actively conducting medical research, participating in health outreach initiatives, and contributing to medical camps. I also have experience in grant writing and project management, which enhances my ability to make a tangible impact on public health initiatives.
As I continue to grow professionally, I am eager to leverage my diverse clinical and public health background in a position where I can make a meaningful difference, drive positive change, and contribute to healthcare solutions on a larger scale.
