Hello! I am truly humbled to be a part of this great team at Assuaged. My name is Satya Benoit, and I am currently pursuing my Master's in Public Health from South College. I have a strong background in the field of animal science. My undergraduate degree is in Equine Science and Management from the University of Kentucky. During my undergraduate years, I also completed a minor in Animal Science and interned with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), where I gained hands-on experience in both laboratory and fieldwork settings. While interning with APHIS I got to be a firsthand witness to the importance of the work of public health professionals in the animal field which inspired me to earn a Master of Public Health.
Apart from studying, I am a veterinary assistant where I take care of our clinic's animal visitors. I hold an interest in understanding the junction of public health, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability. Outside working and studying, I like to participate in a variety of sports and outdoor activities such as tennis, trail walks, or any other interesting activity with friends and family. I also use video games and music as a creative outlet and a way to destress.
