A peer-reviewed research examined the impact of workplace stressors, such as heavy workloads and interpersonal conflicts, on employee well-being.[1] A national survey among Japanese employees revealed that 54.2% reported being distressed by work-related stressors, including a high workload (42.5%), troubles in work relationships (35.0%), and the content of the work (30.9%). Highlighting the significance of self-compassion as a mitigating factor for mental health problems, this research sheds light on the beneficial outcomes of self-compassion, including better mental well-being and resilience. Researchhas shown that work-related stressors—namely job strain, effort/reward imbalance, and inadequate support from coworkers—are linked with a notable decrease in employee Quality-Adjusted Life Years (QALY).[3]

This cross-sectional study examines a novel coping strategy: the effect of walking in forests and green spaces on stress-coping abilities, focusing on a "sense of coherence" (SOC)[8] The study was done among the employees of Tsukuba Science City, Japan.
