The Use of Moringa Leaf for Glaucoma

 

Moringa has been seen to have multiple health benefits, including antihypertensive properties, working as an antioxidant, and showing anticancer effects. Moringa has been added to various herbal remedies to assist with preventing and reducing the risk of ocular and systemic hypertension.

 

How Do You Use Moringa Leaves for Eyes?

 

Moringa leaves have been found to contain four times the amount of beta-carotene than is contained within carrots. By incorporating moringa into the diet, adding powdered moringa leaves to smoothies, drinks, or even desserts, or drinking moringa leaf tea, the benefits from consistent consumption include better eyesight or clearer vision. Moringa leaves are high not only in carotenoids but also in vitamin A, both of which help to improve ocular health.

Is Moringa Good for Eye Pressure?

 

Studies have shown that, depending on whether the individual is taking the correct dose, not only will intraocular pressure lessen, but blood pressure can also go down. As dosage amounts increase, blood and intraocular pressure will fall even more. However, the correct dosage needs to be discussed with a healthcare practitioner to ensure that one does not exceed the tolerable amount or even reach toxic levels.

 

 

How Long Does It Take for Moringa to Start Working?

 

While moringa can show significant health benefits, it can take some time to experience the full effect of the supplement. Some people can start experiencing beneficial effects within a few weeks to a few months, but for others, it can take longer. Some said it took half a year for them to show any changes from taking moringa, but this depends on what diet the individual follows, how physically active they are, and what lifestyle they follow.

Which Form of Moringa Is Best?

 

With the creation process of moringa powder, leaves are taken from the tree and then put through a drying process. Once completely dried, they are broken down into a fine powder. The only extra process moringa capsules undergo is that the powder is packaged into capsules before being sent out. So, how is one more beneficial than the other? One gram of moringa powder contains high protein, vitamin A, potassium, and calcium. To receive all of those benefits while taking the capsule form, one would have to take several capsules at one time every day. 

 

 

Who Should Not Take Moringa?

 

While consuming moringa can provide significant health benefits, paying attention to how much moringa you are getting daily is essential. Consuming too much moringa consistently can lead to excessive calcium or vitamin C levels, causing adverse health effects. The time of day you consume moringa is essential, too, as if someone takes it at night, it can cause insomnia. Pregnant women should avoid moringa as it can lead to muscle contractions in the uterus that could potentially cause a miscarriage.
